Summer jobs abroad
Short Description and Goal
A summer work placement exchange : students from Cheltenham, Sainte-Thérèse or Bayreuth and Annecy work in the council services for a month.
Each year, the City of Annecy offers young Annecy residents the opportunity to go and work in Cheltenham, Sainte-Thérèse or Bayreuth. In a logic of exchange, the municipality of Annecy also welcomes young people from these three cities into its services.
Every year in July, the City of Annecy offers a three-week language course with a family from our twin city of Cheltenham. This course is open to about fifty young people from the city or the agglomeration from the age of 14. This program, set up by Gloucestershire college, brings together around 250 young people of different nationalities (Russians, Spaniards, Germans, Italians, Poles, French …). Lessons in small groups and by level are given in the morning while the afternoon is devoted to fun and sporting activities as well as cultural discoveries, Saturdays being reserved for more distant excursions. Registrations generally begin in March and end at the end of April.
Also every year, the City of Annecy offers young people from our twin cities and Annecy residents aged 14 to 17 to participate in European meetings, which take place over two weeks in August. Workshops to practice a foreign language, as well as many activities are organized. Of course, the exchange between young people of different languages also contributes to the interest of these meetings and makes it possible to create bonds of friendship beyond our borders. At the same time, the City of Bayreuth is also organizing European meetings. For language stays as well as for European meetings, registrations generally begin in March and end at the end of April.
