Local Community Building for City Twinning projects

English

We go global, but at the same time, we seek locality. Those two poles are possible in local communities, which usually appear because of individual needs but can have a global impact. The city consists of diverse interlinking communities, which influence the social fabric of the city in different ways. While planning international cooperation you're always taking into consideration traditions, rituals, or local community leaders. What is the community and what is not? How can you support the local development of your community through international partnership? How can you evaluate the success of a community? Сan community be explained through structures, or it is an unpredictable live system?

In our event-workshop you will,
> go through existing theories and models, explaining community as a social group,
> exchange success stories and instruments, which helped to manage and develop local and international communities.

The event can be useful for people, working with local or international communities, willing to receive theoretical background and practical exchange for further development of those communities, as well as to zoom out and try to see the bigger picture. You will also benefit from the experiences and ideas of other participants and have the chance to develop new ideas together with them or to adapt them for your purposes.
