Virtual Marathon Exchange
Sister cities all over the world are organizing marathons for years. Reasons are charity, networking, raising awareness of some problem or building bonds between runners of different cities. The main difference from other marathons is that you can split your distance with participants from your sister city. Due to the pandemics, many marathons became virtual.

Palo Alto purchases Carbon offset from Sister City of Oaxaca
City of Palo Alto entered into an agreement to purchase carbon offsets from a forestry project within its sister city, Oaxaca, Mexico, to offset carbon dioxide emissions associated with natural gas use in the Palo Alto community. The agreement is part of the City’s Carbon Neutral Natural Gas Plan with goals to reduce overall community greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in an effort to combat climate change.
Across the border, a French energy cooperative and a German cooperative, both citizens, have united their projects to finance four photovoltaic solar roofs on industrial buildings in Colmar.

Young student-theatre groups from Hannover, Poznań, Blantyre, Ghana, Palestine and Turkey met at the international youth theatre festival Fair Culture and exchanged ideas about a fair future using the medium of performing arts.
The educational programme affiliated to The Rendezvous Society a non-profit British charity organisation , based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Activities include study tours, youth conferences and youth exchanges among Gloucestershire and its twinning cities and linked communities around the world. It aims to promote inter-cultural linking and environmental education.
